Club Season and Tryouts Information
ST7 is truly excited to launch our 2020 - 2021 Club Season. Over the past few months we have been hard at work to put into place the safety protocols necessary to keep our athletes, coaches, staff, and families as safe as possible. We have also worked to finalize as many details as possible to release to each of you prior to tryouts and team commitments. While some details are finalized, some are still pending. We are doing our best to be as transparent and detailed with our plans as possible but given the fluidity of COVID-19 and its necessary responses we know that we will need to continue to update and respond to situations as they arise. We will continue to keep updating the information on our website as it becomes available. If after reading through the information found below, you have any further questions, do not hesitate to reach out to us at st7volleyball@gmail.com.

General Club Season Information
Club volleyball is an excellent place for athletes to perfect their skills, increase their leadership capabilities, and improve their teamwork. Club volleyball is vital for young athletes to work towards college team placement and scholarships. Playing club volleyball and competing in tournaments, exposes young athletes to a greater number of college scouts and recruiting opportunities. Athletes on 15U – 18U teams at ST7 are provided with a state-of-the-art recruiting profile through SportsRecruits and personalized recruiting guidance.
ST7 club coaches are professionals with immense knowledge of the game from both a player’s and coach’s perspective. All ST7 coaches are IMPACT certified. IMPACT stands for increased mastery and professional application of coaching theory; this certification ensures that our coaches continue to grow in the knowledge and mastery of best coaching practices. Our coaches are also SafeSport certified ensuring their abilities to support their athletes both on and off the court. ST7 holds their coaches to high standards of ethical and professional behavior and every coach has undergone a full background check. Our coaching staff is committed to excellence and their greatest reward is the success of your athlete. Coaches will be assigned to teams after tryouts. Athletes and parents will be aware of the coaching assignment prior to their commitment.

This season ST7 will rent court space at either Faith Lutheran in Eustis or the Big House in Tavares for our club team practices. Practices may be at one of these locations or both of these locations. Practices days for each team will be either Monday/Wednesday from 6:30pm - 8:30pm or Tuesday/Thursday from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. The tentative/planned practice location and days will be communicated in the team placement information. Please note that these days and location(s) are subject to change this season based on gym availability due to COVID-19. We will do our very best to provide a more definite calendar as soon as possible.

Choosing a club for your young athlete is an important decision. It is vital that you consider all aspects of a club including their philosophy, quality of coaching, dedication to their players, recruiting platform, and financial value. ST7 Club fees are set at the most reasonable level possible to cover the cost of your athlete's training and tournaments and are all inclusive. All fees are presented up front before commitment. You will find no hidden costs with ST7 Volleyball. We have worked harder than ever this season to give each of you as much information about what you are paying for each month and whether it is refundable or not if the season is cut short again due to COVID-19. It is our prayer and plan to complete a safe, robust, and full season of competitive volleyball and top notch training for our athletes but we also want to be prepared and ensure that we are all on the same page when we commit to the season. For this reason you will note that the payment schedule has been restructured for this season. At this time, each package has a price range rather than a set price. We are doing our best to cut any costs that we can to keep the package prices as close to the prices that we have maintained over the past three years but with rising tournament entry fees, rising rental fees, and unpublished tournament entry fees, we are not able to set the final price before tryouts. We will not go over the top price listed and will not go under the lowest price listed for each package.
We stand committed to our mission to teach and serve through sports guided by God. For our coaches and staff the ultimate reward is the success of each and every one of our athletes, both on and off the court. ST7 strives to work hand in hand with our athletes and their parents to help them achieve their goals; whether that is to make their high school volleyball team or to play at the college and professional level. ST7 is blessed with a team of committed and passionate coaches who are top level athletes and accomplished club and school coaches themselves. Success at ST7 is measured not only in tournament wins, but in superior sportsmanship in both triumph and loss. Our athletes leave our program as models of athleticism, leadership, and teamwork.
Tryout Guidelines for Current ST7 Members
Current ST7 members must complete all of the tryout requirements found below with the exception of providing a copy of the birth certificate. We have retained a copy of any 2019 - 2020 club member's birth certificate on file. ST7 reserves the right to refuse tryout registration to any athletes with poor discipline, attendance records or conduct detrimental to the team. Tryout registration may also be refused to athletes or parents/legal guardians who have demonstrated disharmony regarding the purpose, objectives, standards, policies, rules or regulations of the club. In addition, athletes will not be allowed to register for tryouts until all financial obligations for the athlete or any immediate family member of the athlete are brought current. Any athlete who left a previous season without completing their financial obligations or the financial obligations of an immediate family member will have to pay any outstanding balance and pay at least half of the upcoming club season’s fees in order to be re-signed.
Club Fee Packages
ST7 Volleyball strives to give the best value to our club members. This season our 13U - 14U teams will have two possible packages. The packages are not a choice. The package is assigned to the team by the director at tryouts. This decision is based upon the needs of the team and its athletes. We work hard to match each team's needs with the correct package in order to see the maximum growth in a season. The package assigned to the team will be communicated with athletes and their families on our website with the team placement information. This will take place 24 hours after the tryout and will allow the athlete and their family 24 hours to look over the team placement and assigned package before committing to the season. ST7 strives to be as up front and transparent with our pricing as possible. Our packages are all inclusive and include everything that will be required of an athlete to successfully complete their club season. The only costs that are not included in any of our packages are the athlete's AAU and USAV memberships. The athlete's team placement will determine which memberships will be required for them. Some teams will need both the AAU and the USAV and some will only need the AAU membership. The athlete's annual AAU membership typically costs around $14 and USAV annual membership typically costs around $55. Completing the membership application and paying this fee will be the responsibility of the athlete.
This season you will note that the payment schedule has been restructured so that each month you are paying for the expenses that are incurred for that month. We feel this is the most fair and transparent way to structure our payment schedule given our current situation. At this time, each package has a price range rather than a set price. Due to rising tournament entry fees, rising rental fees, and unpublished tournament entry fees, we are not able to set the final price before tryouts. We will not go over the top price listed and will not go under the lowest price listed for each package. You will also note in the chart that the fees for October are set and are non-refundable. These are fees related to uniforms and can not be refunded. November's fees are not set until team commitments have been completed. Once team commitments are completed, we will be able to set the fee for November. Part of November's fee will also cover fees that are non-refundable and part will cover refundable fees such as coach's salary and court rental. These fees are only refundable if our season is mandated to pause or cancel completely due to AAU, USAV, or State/Federal Mandates. December - May club fees have not been set yet. We have listed the expenses that each of these month's fees will cover. As soon as the final tournament registration fees and rental costs are published and set, we will be able to set these payment amounts and communicate that information with each team, along with the final package pricing. We anticipate that we will be able to finalize these monthly fees and package pricing by the end of October.
The two packages listed in the chart are for our 13U - 14U teams. Each team will be assigned either package T which ranges from $2,500 - $3,000 or package 7 which ranges from $2,000 - $2,500. Each package’s total cost is divided into monthly payments. This season our monthly payments have been restructured due to COVID-19. This restructuring will allow for an easier transition if our season is mandated to pause or cancel completely due to AAU, USAV, or State/Federal Mandates. Each month, athletes will be responsible to pay for the exact expenses incurred by that team during that month. This means that some months the payment will be higher and some months the payment will be lower based upon the expenses associated with that team during that month.
Here are the differences between the packages:
Package T - Non-travel teams that play both AAU and USAV tournaments.
Package 7 - Non-travel teams that play only AAU tournaments.
ST7 offers many other training opportunities to our club members at a special ST7 member price. Unfortunately, due to our desire to keep the costs of club volleyball as low as possible for all of our athletes, we simply do not have the funds to offer scholarships. We do try to help athletes fundraise through offering fundraising letters and allowing athletes to sell ads in our annual magazine. We hope that this guide to our packages offers a glimpse at the fantastic experience awaiting you and your athlete at ST7 Volleyball. If you have any further questions regarding ST7 club fees, do not hesitate to contact us at st7volleyball@gmail.com.

3. Age Definition
Both AAU and USAV have changed their age definition guidelines for this season. These new guidelines will change the age division for some of our current club team members. We will have each athlete tryout with the natural age division according to the new AAU and USAV age division guidelines. Although we will not be placing a 12U team this season, all ages 14U and under are welcome to try out. Athletes will be evaluated by skill level and some may be placed on a team that is an age up from their natural age definition if the coaches determine that their skill and position are a good fit for that team. According to AAU and USAV, athletes may play up an age division but can not play down an age division. All athletes will be evaluated based upon their skill and potential position placement for each team.

Please see the new Age Definition Guidelines below to determine an athlete's playing age. Playing age is defined as the athlete’s age as of July 1, 2020. You are responsible for verifying your child’s playing age.

Tryouts Format
Registration
-
Once you complete your online registration, you will be sent a link for two mandatory online waivers. One waiver is for ST7 and one waiver is for the Big House. All athletes and guests must complete the online waiver prior to arrival for tryouts. If you have already filled out the online waiver for training this summer or fall with ST7, those waivers will not need to be completed again for a year.
-
Upon arrival all athletes and guests must be wearing a mask. In order to keep our numbers down in the gym for safety, we ask that only one guest per athlete attend the tryout.

-
Athletes and guests will first undergo a temperature check at the Big House's round front check-in area.

-
Once you have passed the health check, athletes and parents will need to go to the ST7 registration desk and submit the completed Athlete Registration Packet. This packet MUST be printed and completed in ADVANCE and simply handed in at registration. There will NOT be extra packets available at registration and athletes can NOT try out with an incomplete registration packet.

-
Athletes must submit a copy of their birth certificate. **2019-2020 ST7 Club Members may disregard this requirement.

-
Current ST7 athletes who were a member of ST7 during the 2019 - 2020 season do not have a mandatory uniform sizing. We will not be changing the style or fit of the uniform pieces from last season, only the design. Current members may note the sizes that they would like on their registration packet. Please check and try on your current uniform so that you can be accurate with the sizing ordered. Please note that if you need to try a sample on you may also attend the uniform fitting on Wednesday, 10/7 from 6:00pm - 7:45pm.

-
Guests (one per athlete) will be seated in the lobby. We ask that you adhere to appropriate social distancing and wear your mask at all times.

Athletes will be seated in the gym in designated areas. Athletes will need to wear their mask until the tryout begins and again when exiting the building.

-
Athletes will need to bring their own water bottle(s). Due to the Big House rules, these water bottles must be plastic single-use bottles, only. They do not allow reusable water bottles of any kind in their gym. There are no water fountains available due to COVID-19 but there are vending machines with drinks available for purchase.

What will Happen after Tryouts
Team Assignments
-
ST7 will be posting the names of the athletes that were selected to participate in the club teams 24 hours after the last tryout. You must visit our website www.st7volleyball.com to verify if your athlete was placed.
-
If your athlete has been placed on a team and you wish to confirm your commitment to that team, you must complete reading the handbook and sign the letter of commitment electronically within 24 hours of the posting in order to confirm your commitment to ST7 and your team for the 2020-2021 season. By signing the letter of commitment, you are acknowledging that you have read the handbook and are agreeing to abide by the policies found within. Please be aware, if we do not receive the signed letter of commitment within 24 hours of placement, we will assume that you are not committing for the season and may offer your spot to another athlete.
-
If you have chosen to not commit to ST7 and your team for the 2020-2021 season, please email us at st7volleyball@gmail.com to let us know that you will not be committing to the season.

First Steps: Commitment and First Payment
-
In order to accept an athlete's commitment the first payment of $500, must be paid by Wednesday, August 7th. This commitment payment will cover the cost of the athlete’s uniform package. In order to allow for touchless payment, ST7 will email an electronic quickbooks invoice for the commitment payment. This invoice can be paid with an electronic bank transfer for free. You may also pay the commitment payment through the quickbooks invoice with a credit card. If paying with a credit card, there is a service fee of $16 for this payment. Finally, the commitment payment may also be made at the uniform fitting with cash, check or credit card. If made with credit card the service fee will apply.
-
On Thursday October 8th, ST7 will publish the names of the committed athletes for each team. A committed athlete is defined as an athlete who has both signed their letter of commitment within 24 hours after the team posting and paid their commitment payment by Wednesday, October 7th.
-
Upon commitment, athletes will need to complete more documents and obtain the appropriate memberships for their team. We will provide a list of documents and memberships necessary for each team and athlete. AAU memberships are approximately $14 and USAV memberships are approximately $55. * All committed athletes will need the AAU membership, only some teams will require the USAV membership, as well.

Mandatory Parent and Athlete Meeting
-
There will not be a mandatory Parent and Athlete Meeting this season. Your letter of commitment will serve as your acknowledgement that you have read through the entire handbook and are agreeing to abide by the rules and policies found within. If you have any questions regarding any of our policies, please be sure to email us so that we may clarify prior to the 24 hour commitment deadline.
